The morning of Thursday 18th January saw us at the Church Road Winery after Breakfast. We were booked in for a behind the scenes tour and tasting with wine and food.

After looking around the shop and main building, we were met by our guide, Alison.

...all of which was excellent! Naturally we bought a couple of bottles before we left, including this wonderful Marzemino. We had not heard of this grape variety before, but I can recommend it as a warm and spicy red with the buttery undertones of a Chardonnay - excellent wine!!

On leaving Church Road, we visited Clearview Wines where we had lunch, and Beach House Wines, where we added to our stock of bottles!

After this it was time to head back to the hotel for a much-needed afternoon rest.
