Walking in the rainforest (12th Feb)

Writer: Kev and JulieKev and Julie

We woke up in paradise went for Yoga at 7.30 am. The lady said Kev was actually quite good, which was something of a surprise! After a shower, I had possibly the best 'English Breakfast' ever. It was so huge I couldn't finish it! Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo. After Breakfast we went for a walk to 'Fig Tree Rapids'.

It was quite a walk, over fairly rough terrain through the forest, but we made it and it was well worth it!!!

It was definitely time for a rest though,

.....and we had an unexpected guest.

I think he liked the colour of Julie's T-shirt! After the walk back, it was definitely time for a dip in the pool.

The sun was out today and there was not a cloud in the sky.

The pool was lovely.

I rescued the biggest moth I have ever seen from the pool....twice! (I don't know if it made it or not unfortunately).

This one did not need rescuing though!!!

Later in the day we went for a walk around the resort with a guide who told us all about the flora and fauna. Julie loved talking about the snakes, but we didn't see one...only photos on his tablet!

On the walk we saw a Goanna....about 3 feet long!!!

In the evening we had dinner in the main restaurant, which was excellent.

This time I remembered to take a photo of my 'cube of beef' just after I had started it!

On the way back to our treehouse, we saw a Bandicoot, foraging beside the path, he was quite happy scratching away in the soil, a few feet away from us. (Sorry no photo, but they are on google!)
