Today was a rest day so we had lunch at the Kirk Cafe, Hamilton. ('Kirk' is Scots for 'church, and the cafe is adjacent to a church). When I say lunch, I mean that this was possibly the tastiest lunch I have ever had - no joking! I had 'Eggs Bene with prosciutto ' except it is pronounced "Iggs" in NZ lingo!
Julie was equally impresses with her 'Iggplant'...
After that we decided we needed to walk the food off, so we went to nearby Hamilton Gardens. We had a great walk, admiring the 'flora and fauna', but unfortunately, 'rain stopped play'!
The Waikato river runs alongside the gardens.
New Zealanders are very much 'in touch' with their Maori culture, (pun intended!)
Looks as though you are having a wonderful time. Pity you are missing our freezing weather!
Will continue to follow you. Take care
Ted and Gill
