The Linden Estate (17th Jan)

As we neared Napier on 17th Jan, we were looking forward to tasting some excellent NZ wine. Napier is the main town in Hawkes Bay on NZ's northern island, and the area has around 20 or so individual wineries. The choice was huge! The first opportunity came whilst we were in the Esk Valley, coming down from the hills towards Napier.

We were met at the 'Cellar door' by our host Angela who looked after us very well.

The estate produces some excellent wines, and they all tasted fab. It seems to have won lots of awards...

Angela was interested that we were from the UK, and mentioned that Linden Estate would like to get into the UK. We were pleased to put her in contact with our daughter Tash (http://www.natasha-najm.com/ @tweet1moretime) to see if she can assist.

Before we left, we picked up an excellent case of 6 including 2 of the estate's Merlot, 2 Gewurztraminer and 2 Sauvignon Blanc. That should keep us going for a bit! We carried on through the wine fields to Napier.
