After a warm night and after getting acquainted with the Coromandel mosquitoes, we decided it was time to find a great beach. 'New Chums Beach' would fit the bill so we set off.

Shags on the rocks (that's birds on the beach - not a cheeky cocktail!)

It seems that all of NZ's best beaches are a walk away 'just around the next headland', but again, it was worth it.

Another great beach, New Chums Beach is apparently in the list of the worlds 20 top beaches

Soon it was time to leave. (Too much sun is not good!)

After the walk back to the car we decided to go for an ice-cream, but we didn't know what we were letting ourselves in for......

.....because this is what passes for 'two scoops' in NZ!!!!!!! It was err... difficult to manage!

Another great day
