We left Napier after checking out of the Quality Inn. The route home took us through mist and rain as we followed the road through the hills.

En route home to Hamilton we stopped off at the Te Waihou Walkway and the Blue Springs, which is near Putaruru.

ree

The three mile walk took us through farmland, riverside walk and low hills. The riverside scenes were dramatic with waterfalls at some points and a wide smoothly flowing river at other points. It was beautiful!

ree

At the waterfalls I experimented in capturing both moving and still water by adjusting the shutter speed.

ree

Next came some delightful river scenes

It really did look like 'Hobbit Country' - it was a nice day to see 'The Shire'!

ree

I was getting quite good with the water movement thing! After more waterfalls.......

ree

....we were getting to the upper reaches of the river,....

...and the 'blue' after which the area was named, started to make an appearance.

Finally after 4.7 Km we arrived at the Blue Springs'.

The information provided was helpful.....

...but it was a shame that we couldn't go in to the water, which did look really inviting, even though it was only 11 deg C!

The 6 mile round trip (there and back) was definitely well worth it!
